Community Arts

for all abilities

What Is Community Arts?

Working in Art Therapy within the community sector in disability, aged, childcare and mental support work. I found art played an important part in community & social engagement. Promoting group art therapy’s, inclusion, social connections, reducing isolation, promoting mental health, extending existing supports & making new ones within our community. With over 30 years experience in art, I wanted to create a place where art is accessible at a community level for EVERYONE. AFFORDABLE & of ALL ABILITIES with individuals, groups & INCLUSIVE to anyone. Promoting & supporting local artists within our workshops and creating a space for everyone to be included and to be creative.

A community where EVERYONE is welcome

Testimonials

  • “I would like to highly commend Community Arts as a special facility for all abilities. As an artist myself, I always come away from these well facilitated workshops inspired, feeling motivated and always with a new technique, skill or tweak of ideas. I feel calm, energised and happy.   Never underestimate the truth worth of a fabulous workshop leader, willing to share her passion for creativity and love of supporting all abilities. I have seen how Sarah adapts her style of presentation to be caring, supportive and guiding for those who need that support.  Her sense of humour and people skills are infectious and empathetic. She listens... a real skill.Community Arts  needs to be supported to continue this amazing work.”

  • “Sarah’s business/passion is community arts, i have had the pleasure to be involved as a participant and helper for many of her sessions. She has many “all abilities” sessions which encourage participants that may have constraints on their participation in mainstream events but Sarah will always embrace and encourage them. I think her ability to be inclusive no matter what peoples circumstances and/or limitations are, whether they are mentally, physically, emotionally or social is one of her greatest assets and being around to see many of these types of people feel welcome and valued is always a joy. Her manner is outgoing, cheerful, fun, friendly and always professional. With her formal training and also experience working as a community support worker which i believe gives her insight into her teaching, sharing knowledge and interacting with all sorts of people. She is also a mum which just adds to her warm caring nurturing side.”
